FAQs

What are some benefits of the Royal Academy?

The Royal Academy provides the optimal environment for players to experience overloads on their football ability. Teammates will train with and compete against players of their ability or better. Some of the benefits of NP2P include:

  • Competing with player who desire to win

  • Players with better football ability

  • Better teams (The best players will be on the field because playing time is not guaranteed)

If my player isn’t provided an opportunity to play in all games, how will this benefit their development?
- Even if they do not get consistent playing time, they will benefit from training with better players.

How much playing time will my player receive in each match/tournament? I don’t want to travel 3+ hours and pay for hotel and travel expenses if I can’t guarantee that their playing time will be worth it.
- Welcome to competitive football.

What do you mean by “better players”?
- Players that can attack, defend, and transition better at a higher speed and for longer.

What do I need to do to get more playing time?
- Perform better than the player(s) whose position you want.

How do I become better than the player(s) in my position?
Contribute better to the team intention & tactical principle(s).

How many players will be on a team?
- 18 players (16 field players and 2 goalkeepers)

What are the age group make up of the teams?
- Depends on the birth year of the players. Traditionally, the age group make up was as follows:

  • U15-U16 (Will register as U16 in tournaments/showcases)

  • U17-U19 (Will register as U19 in tournaments/showcases)

⚠️ Age group makeup subject to change

Is this a 2 season program?
- No, Girls play in the Fall and Boys play in the Spring. This allows players to play for their high school teams.

I play another sport during the season, is it ok to miss practices for my other sport’s events?
- Don’t expect your football ability at the beginning of the season to be sufficient for the latter part of the season. The team will naturally learn to perform successfully without you. Missing training sessions will increase the chance other players taking your spot.

Are uniforms included?
- No, you must purchase you own uniform kits

Do parents pay for league games, tournaments, or showcases?
- No! You do NOT pay to play, however, you are responsible for your player’s hotel and travel expenses. There will also be a nonrefundable (good faith payment) of $175 once a player is selected. The good faith payment can be waived for those with financial difficulty.

What’s the catch?
-You must EARN YOUR BLUE!
